Our local Yacht club are getting very proactive in arranging events and are pretty keen to arrange a downwinder / race for kites, wings & windsurfers this season. Due to logistics the downwinder would run in the Gulf on a South Easterly morning finishing at the Yacht club with a party later that day. Question is how many of you school holiday crowd would be interested? we've penciled in the middle weekend of the holidays as heaps of crew are already in town. We may even run this event as part of the Downwinder series alongside Carnarvon Windfest, Sharkbay downwinders & safety bays boss of the bay. Any feedback welcome, and if you'd be keen for a social fun downwinder or a race to the finish let me know ??

I have asked a couple of others and the reaction has been very positive for an event at this time. There will be a large crew staying at Yardie that I'm sure will want to take part.

Good stay in the gulf

A swarm of fast carefully ego-driven foils won't damage too many turtles there

Neither will snorkellers or free divers get hit on the head with your boards !
..
And you had better stay in the gulf too so you don't get 'arrested'

It's OK it will only be kiters anyway. No posts in the WA Windsurfing or Wing forums. Keeping it private.

Good point, didn't even think about it as mentioned in the original post if we get something off the ground it will be for everyone, even Timmy
