Hi folks I have seen a Deep Jackson close 10'x26 @111 L for sale on this site and I am interested in buying it. I am 70kg low intermediate SUP surfer and I have a 9'6" 170L board that has been great for catching any waves. I have been watching Vids of Longboarding and I think I would be more suited to that style than shortboarding performance SUPs as I have only been surfing a few years and Im in my late 50's now. Would the 111 L be too little volume? I have recently purcashed a prone longboard as during Isolation I watched lots of Vids on Longboarding and want to give it a go, but Im usually on my SUP not wanting to waste wave time practising on the longboard. I guess a Longboard SUP you get the best of both worlds.

I'm similar to your weight and age and the volume should be fine, but compared to your other board it might too big a jump down. I'm not sure how stable it would be at 26, post some feedback if you get it as I'm interested in getting a 26 wide longboard also.

I have a Deep 10x27 coming down this week @116ltrs.... Its a decent step down from the 130tr boards I a riding now.... especially as I am up in the high 90kg bracket (and early 50s). Its going to be an interesting transition, but I am hoping the reduced width will equal a big jump in performance!! Will show it off once it arrives!!

You will notice a huge difference coming from a 170ltr board.... but at 70kg, provided your balance is okay, you should be able to adapt quickly. Its the side to side 'wobble' that will get you, although the reduced volume may actually assist as you will be sitting a little lower in the water. 170ltrs at only 70kg must be pretty corky??

Yes it is but it catches everything and sometimes I paddle it in the Bay. My brother uses it sometimes and he's 90kg or close to it and a complete novice. I was SUP surfing on an 8'6" 135 liter board for a couple of years and traded it in on the Trigger Bros 9'6" I have now. I took a 8'10" Hipster Twin 145 litre for a demo the other day and loved the board, I could not say it surfed overly well but of course too many variables to judge in one session. I'm hoping to Demo a Sunova Speed 8'10" 130 liters next week so I might be able to make a decision on a shorter board. Also for sale is a BMs Starboard 10'x29" 123L longboard SUP which might be more suitable purchase for me as a longboard sup. Cheer for everyone's input.

I looked at this model at the factory,it is with out doubt the best looking longboard sup that I have seen, and I have supped or looked at most of them Simon has definitely put time into this model ! It definitely does not hurt to have had Jackson testing them as well,

Ok I have supped the 26 x111 litre Deep in very choppy conditions at a local novelty break,it was definitely doable but not for me long term! Yes less width =more performance,my daily ride is 29 x125 litres so quite a bit of difference there.my age 68 75 kg is a big factor, bad shoulder problems a bigger factor.I bought the board to prone surf on the days you can't sup,and was surprised at how well it went!,the only problem with this light construction is deck compression especially with knee paddling, which I do a lot of for cross training (shoulders).so younger fitter more talented people will love this board it is amazing to ride however you want.I have talked to Simon at Deep re a custom with pvc deck insert for not much $ more,as I'm sick of trying to fit into big manufacturers stock numbers and go custom from now on! A no brainer for me with People like Simon pushing the boundaries of custom design and construction,.

I have had one or two of the Deep/ longboard sup revolution boards and they not only look nicely old school and are a terrific allrounder, from noseriding to laying a sharp rail turn they perform admirably. Just got to play around with fin sizes for personal preferences on the style of surfing you like Emeboy! good stuff and good luck, nice choice

Emeboy!!!
Youve got yourself an absolute ripper there man.
Wow. Simon is definitely producing some next level boards.
Geez, I'll be very keen to hear how she goes.
You'd be getting frothy for the next 10' LSR comp with that thing I reckon.
Yeeew!!!
